Researchers have found an APK (the Android app file format) of Pokémon Go carrying the remote-access exploit called DroidJack. While the mobile game Pokémon Go has been massively popular since it launched, users in countries where the game isn’t yet available have been side-loading versions of the app downloaded from file-sharing sites. Some of them are now liable to catch some malware alongside that Magikarp.
Poland’s second largest telecom operator Netia has confirmed a data breach of customer data following on attack last Thursday. Early reports suggest that the attackers were able to infiltrate two customer contact forms on Netia’s website.
Facebook Messenger has added end-to-end encryption on their app on a limited test basis. The feature will apply initially to “one-to-one secret conversations” in Messenger.
Following their 2015 data breach, the FDIC is updating their cyber security policies to specifically address “insider threats” within the organization.
