With +350 stores across North America, Eddie Bauer announced last week that they have been hit with point-of-sale malware. Acting quickly after this data breach, in which customer credit card details may have been stolen, the retailer has offered affected customers one year of free identity protection services.

Do you have a cybersecurity suggestion for the White House? Now there’s a place to send them. As part of the new White House Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity, the National Institute of Standards and Technology has added a request for information (RFI) in the Federal Register. In this RFI, they have asked for feedback on a variety of issues related to cybersecurity.

Hospitals are still struggling with data security, according to this  survey by Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Bad practices included not encrypting health records and data-at-rest.
