That awesome tweet pretty much summed up an engaging panel discussion on privacy and security concerns related to the Internet of Things (IoT), held last night in Vancouver.
Absolute’s own Richard Henderson, Global Security Strategist, was among the “ninjas” at the event, hosted by the Vancouver Entrepreneurs Forum and Ready Room Briefings.
Other panelists included Adam Shostack, Founder of Confidenza Security, Eric Winsborrow, CEO of Distrix Networks, Ryan Wilson, CTO of Kubera Payments, and Alex Dow, President of The Mainland Advanced Research Society (moderator).
Device security, privacy and more
As Richard shared with the panel, it’s only been 10 years since the iPhone came out and yet for most of us, we cannot imagine reality without a smartphone. And, it’s hard to imagine what the world will look like in another 10 years. The panel discussion ranged from growing security threats in IoT devices to privacy laws (or the lack thereof), to privacy and consent for kids toys — and continued (where else?) on Twitter:
